Awwww thanks guys! I knew that the first time i went to the races i wanted to be a part of it. Im so grateful to actually have a chance to work with what i love, where others, their first jobs probably werent choices. My parents didn't agree with my decision at all...but I could understand why because they were being all protective and all. But a lot of opprotunities were offered to me at the track and i knew that if I ignored them, it would be too late to get through that door. I heard " NO, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN" more times than i can count, which again i can understand why it would be said. But something inside me told me that I had to keep trying to make this happen. This article is the result of my stubborn actions of getting to do what I WANTED to do. I love this job and since it's what my passion is, It makes the day go quick and I dont even think about the money. I just think about how Im making a difference in the care of these Thoroughbreds! Yes, the worst part of the job..is LEAVING!

Very proud of you casey. As a monmouth park stable area security guard I have been around the track for years and I know that working there in any position is not easy, but casey sure hit the nail on the head and dove right in, and I give her all the credit in the world. As her future brother in law and as her friend all I gotta say Is way to go casey keep it up.

I have known casey since she was born. As her older sister, it has touched my heart reading your article. I am so greatful that someone other than myself and my family can see and appreciate her amazing determination and passion for her job. I don't know of any other teenage girl who would spend their whole summer vacation getting up at 430am 7 days a week to work. We are both so blessed to grow up in a household where you are encouraged to follow your dreams. Casey not only follows them, she finds them and takes the lead. I love my sister, for everything that she stands for, and while she should be looking up to me ( because I'm the older sister)... I often find myself looking up to her.

3 cheers for Casey As an oldster I envy her for being able to get out there and do what she loves and work toward her dream When I was her age I wanted to work the backside, become a jock and later a trainer. Alas, back then women were not welcome on the backside, there were no women jocks, and a women trainer rarer then a Hope diamond Kudos Casey I love what you are about and doing Hope to be around to see you in the Derby winner's circle with a horse you trained

Steve, a very well written article about the behind the scenes actions of a young woman with more passion for our sport than 5 Uncle Mo's !!!!!! Casey, having met her and have got to know her very well, efforts, and love should never go unnoticed......as this is not everyones choice...but hers and looks to advance and have a brighter future in this business. Personally, while continuing with her passion,IMO she should also be drawing these wonderful animals and helping her financially while she puts in her time and effort. Knowing Casey the way i do, im sure she will not want to benefit from them, but i know many individuals that commend her for her paintings and that would love to purchase paintings of famous horses OR horses of their own and maybe a portion of the proceeds could go to w/e equine foundation she deems appropriate!!!????...Anyway, a great article my friend ...keep it up and look forward to the next one, and Kudos to you as well for taking the initiative to write about something and/or someone who you feels deserves to not go unnoticed....CHEERS BRO!!!!!
